I hope I'm at the right place.  I am wanting to learn ASP/C#.  The instruction material suggests Visual Web Development 2005 Express.  I downloaded it as well as 2008. But they will not install on my XP pro.  My computer exceeds requirments.  When I try to install, it gets to the very end, the then goes bananas and starts Disk Recovery.  I have to power off and reboot.  Both 2005 and 2008 do the same thing.  Can someone direct me?

Did your XP Operating System have SP2? Visual Web Developer needs SP2 support.

Did you install beta version of Visual Studio? If so, you need to uninstall it first.

Did you get any error message while installing? Please refer to its Readme. http://www.microsoft.com/express/2005/support/default.aspx (Visual Studio 2005) and http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/a/e/9ae0f6cc-7032-408e-9ca7-989f9e4af4ec/VS2008ExpressReadme.htm (Visual Studio 2008).

After removing what was installed using the remove tool, it installed without a flaw.
