I can not create a web application project in VS 2005. When I am trying to create a new project it only gives me the option of creating (windows application,class library,console application,windows control library,crystal reports application and device application).

But can not find the web application project. Is there any sp needs to be installed. Searched in google but could not find much info. I am using VS 2005 version 8.0.50727.42 , Framework version 2.0.50727 SP1.

Can anyone please let me know what is happening here??

Have you installed SP1 of the VS2005 as it brings WAP to VS2005 (WAP is also available as separate download but SP1 is of course preferred)

I cannot create a WAP either.  I have SP1 installed.  It even says I have the Web Application Projects installed (when I go under VS 2005's about menu).

I did read that it is necessary to UNINSTALL WAP before installing VS 2005 SP1. (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/asp.net/aa336618.aspx)  Would that mess it up?  How can I un-install WAP?

Right now, I'm uninstalling SP1 and will re-install.  Maybe something happened during the last install.

still am not getting the "Convert to Web Application option" when i try to convert the aspx page to partial class model.

also am not getting the "ASP .Net Web Application project" template in New project window.

Please let me know how to get this options.
