I see you descided to post a article here after collecting imformation from us all ....... as per your post a few days back .. did you resolve your problem then ?
All the methods that was provided was greate and very usuful but not acceptable by my manager or our clients. So I end up writting a small WebDAV application.

I had a same problem abount multiupload.
