    Downloaded SP1 Beta bits, setup DD into my existing 3.5 website. All worked well.

    Then downloaded 5/12 refresh of DD on top of SP1 Beta, as recommended.

    Now I do get links generated, but clicking a link to a Table throws up following error:

    BTW, I did replace DynamicData folder from new bits and also updated web.config for QueryString attribute of DDManager and it compiles fine.

    Hi ejugnoo,

    I wanted to ask you to clarify a couple things to help our investigation:

    1. Did you install an older preview release of dynamic data onto your SP1Beta install before getting the newer 05/12 release?
    2. Can you run a non-dynamic-data application properly (you mentioned that the page that lists tables shows up properly, so perhaps a non-trivial application, such as a site that uses gridview to perform data access?)

    Any other information you can give us will help. Thanks.

    1. No, there was no other install between few hours of installation of SP1 Beta. I read David's post and installed 5/12 bits.

    2. Non-DD app runs just fine, inc GridView/ListView.

    To simplify things, I tried creating a new website using DD Website VS template. Connected to same database to create new DataContext, as is previously. To my surprise, it was working just fine as expected OOB. Same tables that blow up in my site, works fine on test site. Why so, after 5/12... unless there is a blunder mistake. I went back to verify my previous sites web.config... line by line, and global.asax, and replaced DynamicData folder, linked to my Site.master and updated correct Placeholder reference.

    Okay, I was hoping to hear from you.

    It turns out that same code-base when accessed via ASP.NET Dev Server works a charm, its IIS 7 in my Vista ultimate which became unhappy. But why only for DD???

    What more info can I provide to nail it?

    This kind of a guess, but try the following:

     iisreset /stop

    Delete all items from windows\Microsoft.Net\Frameworks\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.Net Files\YOUR_APP_NAME

    iisreset /start

    And request again.  The reason I think this might work is because you say it works for the ASP.Net Dev Server, but not IIS.  So maybe the IIS version wasn't dynamically compiled right.  It's something to try.

    Thanks,

    Leonid

    Tried that, result is same. Could there be some Security restriction set in IIS which is making "CreateInstance" unhappy?

    Can you check if your web.config has a line that looks like:

          <add name="UrlRoutingHandler" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="*" path="UrlRouting.axd" type="System.Web.Routing.UrlRoutingHandler, System.Web.Routing, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" />

    If so, try changing it to:

          <add name="UrlRoutingHandler" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="*" path="UrlRouting.axd" type="System.Web.HttpForbiddenHandler, System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" />

    The latest templates don't have that, but maybe you had it from an earlier app.
