I'm on a very low bandwidth connection, so (per advice from another user) I started replying to threads via the forums.asp.net newsgroup.
I noticed that my points for replying to a thread were not being added when I post via that method. (I'm pretty sure it has been adding points in the past, but it's not something that I could swear an oath on.)
