Sorry, if I sound like an idiot. All these names are a tad confusing.
I am doing web parts. And I need it to work in *all* browsers for my application.
VS 2008 web parts doesn't work in all browsers, it only works fully in IE
For instance the drag and drop functionality doesn't work in firefox. The Corner Menu doesn't work in firefox.
I have read that the CTP Preview DLL will allow me to do this.
I have installed the Microsoft ASP.NET 3.5 Extensions (by downloading and running the ASPNetExt.exe)
How do I gain access to the webparts that are included in this DLL?
I have started a website under the 3.5 extension template. I don't know if that is what I am suppose to do. But how do I gain access to that functionality versus the standard ASP.NET functionality.
With ASP.NET 2.0 we would put the preview.dll and the ajax.dll in the bin directory. Then create References to point to them. Then create a tag at the top of the page giving it a prefix tag name.
But after creating the Extension project I see no Dll in the bin directory. I see no additional controls on the tools or in the intellisense.
Help is greatly appreciated. I am trying to research to see if web parts will do what my bosses hope it will do.

The CTP you installed is a side by side release with a different version number of the assemblies (3.6). You should change your project's references to point to the new versions of the assemblies. Have a look at
this document for more information.

I thought the Extensions install was to replace the 2007 futures for 2007.
So I wounde up installing the futures for 2007 and using that.

Yes, Extensions replaces Futures. You should uninstall both and then reinstall just the Extensions.

How would I then use the web part control that was used in the preview before?
The preview.dll provided a webpart control that allowed drag and drop for firefox.
I originally, installed the extensions and tried creating a sample page with the project being made from the asp.net extension template. I used the typical <asp: as I did this.
But firefox, still did not work with the drag and drop functionality?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Yours in deepest gratitude,
