Hi all,

I'm having a problem with a recently installed Visual studio 2008 professional.
Windows projects seems to work fine, but when i create a new website, visual studio freezes
when on the default.aspx tab. I can open other files in the solution (web.config, default.aspx.vb etc.) and compile the solution the first time.

Next time i open the website created, visual studio crashes without a warning (just closes)
The problem seems to be related to the web design mode.

Any other that have had similar experiences? Solutions?

My OS is windows xp professional sp2. Previously installed is vs2003 and vs2005.

Edit: Hotfix KB946581 is applied as well

I think you must send an error report to microsoft instead, may be their support team can guid you.

This seem to be a common problem. I resolved the issue by putting the path to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Web Designer Tools\VWD before the path to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11
in Control Panel ->System->Advanced tab -> Environment variables ->System variables: Path

That worked for me (though it was Office12 in the case of my path).
