When i reach the option "Create methods to send updates directly to the database (GenerateDBDirectMethods)" when creating a TableAdapter it's greyed out. Reading about it - this is due to having joins in your query.
Now the database and all the tables are joined but when i populate the query in VS .Net i only have one table selected but still the option is not available. Would this mean that Visual Studio "knows" the database table has joins in it therefore would not
show this option? or am i doing something wrong?
If im doing everything right, how should i create my own query to update the database i.e. should i open the xsd file in code and write my code in there?
Thanks in advance

Based on my understanding, you cannot select the “Create methods to send updates directly to the database” to generate for fetching and updating data when you use TableAdapter Configuration Wizard. If I have misunderstood you, please feel free to let me
Yes, this option is unavailable when the original SQL statement does not provide enough information or the query is not an updateable query. This situation can occur, for example, in JOIN queries and queries that return a single value (scalar).
We can write the UPDATE Query Type to update the data instead of generating it base on the select statement.

I hope this helps.
