My web host (http://www.webhost4life.com/) supports 1.1, 2.0 & 3.0 but not 3.5. I am on 2.0.
What is the difference between 3.0 and 3.5?

Framework release 3.0 is essentialy an add-on/plugin to 2.0 to add base functions for WPF,WCF,and pre LINQ hooks to applications
.NET Framework 3.0, formerly called WinFX, includes a new set of
managed code APIs that are an integral part of
Windows Vista and
Windows Server 2008 operating systems. It is also available for
Windows XP SP2 and
Windows Server 2003 as a download. There are no major architectural changes included with this release; .NET Framework 3.0 uses the
Common Language Runtime of .NET Framework 2.0. Unlike the previous major .NET releases, there was no .NET Compact Framework release made as a counterpart of this version.
FROM SOURCES ON WIKIPEDIA..
3.5 Framework..just recently released by MS,Is an entire full release .It 3.5 will only run under XP SP2 and above.LINQ is native
Hope it helps

So if my webhost is not offering 3.5, am I missing out on something if I stay with 2.0 (apart from LINQ - for which I can very well use TableAdapters)?

Depends on your needs and plans...remember that 3.5 is brand new and just RTM released on Nov 16,2007..So I would gamble that not a lot of companies are offering it.In my current field we use a combination of 2.0/3.0 technologies .3.5 framework is now available
but most companies dont fully embrace for 3-6 months....depending on need and business requirements...
