My log in status as an administrator on the development machine does not transfer to the host site. I have opened the host site using VWD and see no way to set up a person as an administrator.
I guess you need to clarify by what you means as "administrator". If you mean that you were using the administrator account on your development machine, then you probably need to look for another solution for the sake of security. Of course, if your host
site is not administered by you, they probably won't let you be an administrator.

That's the key; you are on a hosted site. You would need for the site administrator to grant you adminstrator rights. Not likely if you're not directly connected in some way with the hosted site. Furthermore, they probably would not allow the use of "administrator",
so your login would need to be granted the rights.
Bottom line: You are at the mercy of the site administrator. Besides the obvious security issues with using an administrator account in the first place, you might want to look at using a more limited user instead.

I want to add an administrator to my web site on the host web server.
I log in on the hosted site using an administrators user name and I can reach the site administration tab to work with listed records.
So far I can find no way to add an administrator to the hosted site.
Any suggestions?
