I am following the construction of an ecommerce application and in one .cs file, I get this error in several classes.
What does this exactly mean and how, in VS2005, can I fix this?

The other interesting thing to note is that when I rename the clases the error still exists. How do I do a search? Do I have to a manual search? I don't see a search option.
Sorry if this sounds very n00by!

Ok I think that problem is now out of the way (well it doesn't appear as a bug when I debug the site), but now I have the profilecommon bug talked about here: http://forums.asp.net/thread/1432855.aspx
I downloaded the tool that was mentioned there but there is no option for me to generate a webprofile by right clicking web.config. What do I do?

I am having exactly the same problem. Renaming the class name does not make any difference. The duplicate is in a automatically generated temporary .cs file.
Could you tell me how you resolved the problem?

I am sorry but I found my problem was caused by a typo resulted from hasty copying and pasting.
The first line of the page is supposed to be:
<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Test.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="MyPage.aspx.cs" Inherits="MyPage" Title="Test" %>
However, I had the following that caused the problem:
<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Test.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="MyPage.aspx.cs" Inherits="MyPage.aspx" Title="Test" %>
