    Hi I am Hokgiarto.

I want help for making instant web messenger like www.e-buddy.com using Atlas. It is for my final assignment. But I only using 3 network, Yahoo!, MSN, and local. I want to make Atlas Web Messenger only for basic chatting function, such as login, add contact, delete contact, send text, see online contact only, and few other basic function.  Please can someone help me step by step to make it?  And also please help me find a free web hosting that support Atlas.

Thank you for your attention and help.

    Hi,

I also built a messenger in my last semester. Well what you are doing is a nice thing. If I am not wrong you are making a web based messenger.

What you need to do is that you have to make an application having different parts ( Web parts ). each web parts take care of different aspect of messenger.

Like one for contacts, one for chatting ( for each user ).

I will send you my study on that soon. please feel free ask any question.

I hope ideas started in your mind for this nice work

Hi guys, i wanna develop something like that, doesn' t need so powerful like the idea of Hok (that was really great!) but, for while I just need something like ShailAtlas is telling.

So ShailAtlas for where can I start for develop a application like this?

Can you give me some help?

I've been for searching in the forum for a long time, but i just don't found information about something like this.

The only one that sounds terrific it's use the CuteChat or Cute Web Messenger from CuteSoft but it's so expensive to a SmallBusinness like the mine.

The ideal license for me it's the Developer License and costs $1599 ... so we can join our efforts and developing something together with the help from others users with the same intereristing in the community.

I will continue searching for something like this in the forum and if found link this post.

So I'll be waiting for another posts and let's go DO IT!

Ahh.. i just wanna say sorry for my bad english!!!!!!!!

    THANKS GUYS!!!!!!

    THANKS SEAN!!!! SO MUCH!!!!

I was making a test and IT'S REALLY GREAT MAN!!!! IT'S EXACTLY what i'm looking for...

It's really fast and very rich too!!!! I think it's be very very helpfull not only for me, of course, but for all in the forum that looking for this too. IT'S A GREAT CONTRIBUITION for all!

So... after I post this, i continued searching for something in the web and found this too:

    http://www.lalabird.com/?fa=JSMX.chat

In the downloads section of this site we can get a ajax library that bring the function "is typing" like we found in the WebMessenger, E-messenger-net, Cute Web Messenger... it's a amazing funcionality that the users apreciatte so much, so we can try put all together, these characteristics that we can found in the Ajax Im that you share plus theses we found in JSMX, and so let the program still richer.

To purpose, these blog that you send is yours? I'm thinking in sending the link from this library for the responsable from the ajax im and let he know that someone is too working in something similiar, and so we can help he to take more contributes and who knows, union the efforts joining all the people that is working in a creation of a system like that, not only here in the asp.net forum but out there too, for mutual contributions, something like a project....

Well I think I spend aaaalll my english now... and if you guys understand something i will be very happy too... cause somethings that i wrote sounds so strange... REALLY HOPE THAT COMPREHENSIBLE FOR ALL.... IF SOMETHING NOT, REALLY SORRY!

So let me stop here and anything else I find about this issue i come back here and post!

Hugs for all and thanks for your attenttion...

    Hi Kalel,

I'm in search of an AJAX chat system too and I found your links very helpful (particularly this one).  However, I would like to use it for more of an online support chat system.  This would require that there only be two people in a chat session (1 Admin & 1 User).  I think if I can figure that out, the hard part will be behind me.  The only other thing I can think of is monitoring the Admin user to notify users if there is an agent online and perhaps a way for the Admin to manage multiple chat sessions at the same time.

Do you have any thoughts on this?

Hi Derek, unhappily all I found until now related about chats is these links I've posted.

But if I'll find something more like what you need I come back and post.

I think a support chat system very interesting too, and have interesting in implement one if possible, cause would make a very good impression if we can offer to the clients more this differential.

About your idea to monitoring the Admin user I think it's very good, but I don't know how make something like this using these partitioned codes.

So If we find something related we post, discuss and can help one another.

Thanks Derek for the post and we talk soon.

    (sorry the bad english!)

Sadly I don't see any of these links to be relevant anymore. I am looking for some kind of sample project on creating a chat using Ajax.net 1.0 and ASP.NET 3.5 (3.0). All these links uses Ajax yes, but not Ajax.net as far as I can see, and thats what i guess most of us are interessted in.
