It seems the Website Administration Tool timeout is quite short. Is there a config entry I can change to extend this?

    Thanks.

    "Tool has timed out."

"As a security measure, the Web Site Administration Tool times out after a period of inactivity. Changes to machine.config or web.config may also result in the tool needing to be restarted. To continue configuring your web site, restart the tool."

    Hi,

The timeout setting unfortunately cannot be changed.

That's really dissapointing, the tool sometimes times out after a minute or two of inactivity, that's just absurdly short.

    Hi Omar,

Do you know how to fix the "tool has timed out" problem or can you point to some info that I can use to resolve it.  Thanks.

    Hello cruxgps,

Per my previous post, unfortunately there is no way to adjust the timeout, so the best option is to restart the tool.  I understand that's unconvenient and we'll look to see if we can fix it in a future release.
