Multiple Clients and Gridviews

Hi All,

I am new to development forums so apologies for any mistakes or ambiguity!

I have a gridview on a webpage which is hosted on a server. I want multiple clients to be able connect to the webpage and edit the gridview contents, just using its own edit and delete functions.

When I access the webpage using Client A and change the contents, a refresh of the page on Client B confirms the changes have been made. But when Client B then changes the contents, a refresh on Client A cancels out the changes as the data is being resent on Client A during the refresh, thus cancelling out Client B's changes.

Is there anyway to handle this or refresh the gridview on Client A without a postback? Am I missing something very obvious with refreshing and posting back to the server?

I'm in need of tweeking my dads webiste. I've just started out doing websites in visual web dev and i'm kind of a newbie when it comes to any kind of web developing.

Need some advice/pointers

I am a software engineer with 25 years of experience. This has all been in product design, primarily deeply embedded.

I am at a point in my career where I want to transistion over to web applications. I have been using C all those years. I am seeking advice on what I should concetrate on learning. Javascript, C#, SQL, ??? I think I mainly want to do the back end under the hood stuff more than actual page layout.

Also, what would be the logical order in which to come up to speed on these components ?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Send multiple emails

Hi All,

My code is about sending an email when a student checks a record from the gridview, they click the confirm button and the form sends an email to their lecturers.

However my code allows me to only send a record at a time. I would like check multiple records and send multiple emails.

How do I do that?
