Hi guenavan,

Did you save before doing the Find operation? There’s a known Beta2 bug (recently fixed internally) where Find doesn’t correctly handle unsaved changes if the search scope is Entire Solution or Current Project. Could you try saving immediately before bringing up Find and let me know whether the problem still occurs?

Hi, Kris,
this "trick" (or bug?) works (reappears) only for one solution
which was opened during these manipulations,
i.e. seems to be saved in solution.

Any other solutions (newly created or old ones) do not have such context option
(on right-clicking).

This is strange since one would expect it to be configuration (customization) of VS
and independent on particlular solutions used.

Is it a bug?

I am editing, inserting records of table through table editor
opened from Server Explorer, wanna save changes...

Ooops, right-clicking on tab of the table - no options to save.
Menu File - no options to save.

Ooops, just understood that
I do disagree with auto-committing of each record
(or whole table?)
on each chnage of focus from record!

The changes (modifications) should have been accumulated (collected)
and
committed on explicit Save command from user!

This would have permitted much smoother, comfortable, user-friendly
and richer experience!

VS2010 Beta 2 – Validation ($SCHEMA$): Element is not supported

If you have adopted beta 2 of Visual Studio 2010 then you might have spotted a large amount of green squigglies underneath the tags in your markup. Read on to find a fix for "Validation ($SCHEMA$): Element 'div' is not supported".

Thank you Lionel ... this is bad news.

I placed a c. 16MB .pdf document, Essays_on_philosopical_subjects.pdf, from Google's free books on my iis 7.5 server.

It download okay to my win2003 development machine using Firefox 3.5.5.

On a WinXP Pro running IE7 on a different network, I keep getting "The file is damaged and could not be repaired'.

I have an idea for a kludge: .zip the .pdf. While this might work, it is unacceptable because it defeats the easy to use for the end user principle. There are gazillions of end users who are not sufficiently computer literate to work with a .zip file.

Fortunately, I have no immediate need for .pdf files on my site. If I did, it looks like I would be scr**d.

I wonder what other iis 7.5 surprises and gotchas are waiting to make our lives miserable.

Javacript Serializer Date Issue (Bug?)

Created a Unit Test as the folowing using System.Web.Extensions.dll:

"output" is always comming 3 hours later,

I mean, if result comes with '10/25/2009 03:00:00' , after serialize, date inside "input" it turns out to be in '\Date(...)' format, but after deserialized, the date is '10/25/2009 06:00:00' and test fails. Check it out.

My GMT is -3, suspect something to do with it.

Background image in IE8, problem when pressing 'Back'

Hi, I don't know if anyone has experienced this before..

I have an ASP.NET web site that has a bug in IE8....when the page is loaded it loads fine, but when you press 'Back', IE8 hangs loading the background image, whether it's set to repeat or not, and prevents another image on the page from loading properly..

The background does display in IE8, it's the status bar that says: "Downloading picture..etc.."

I'm also experiencing this in IE8 for a sharepoint site...

Firefox, opera and chrome dont have this problem..

I've tried this in the master page:

And it makes no difference

Does anyone have any ideas how this can be fixed?

I have some c# code in global.asax:

Application_PreSendRequestHeaders
{
Uri myuri = new Uri(Request.Url.AbsoluteUri)
//Do Some functions
}

The problem is that Request.Url.AbsoluteUri is returning "http://www.somesite.com/default.aspx" , when the Url in the client's browser looks like "http://www.somesite.com/". This small diffrence is causing a redirect loop. If you really need to see my code(instead of 'do some functions') for some reason, I'll post it later.

Unselected AccordionPane showing its content

Does anyone know under what circumstances would content be showing when it should be hidden when a pane is not active?

Until I updated to version 3.0.30930, my accordion control was working fine. Updating the Toolkit broke previously working behavior in the accordion by which content which was previously hidden when an AccordionPane was not active, now some of the content is showing through when another pane is selected.

Should I be looking at CSS of the items contained in the Content block?

Modalpopup bug

I have a scrollbar from an Iframe within a Panel, and the Panel shown using the modal popup extender. The Scrollbars on the Iframe seem to be cause an issue on the MouseUp Event. If you click and drag the scrollbar in the Iframe and release the mouse button while being over the control that you use to move, then the modal will follow the mouse movement without the mouse buttons being pressed. Where do you report this?
