Web Setup Cannot Run in different server

Hello,

1) It always choose the default.aspx to display, if the page is not exist it always shows :

"Showing a modal dialog box or form when the application is not running in UserInteractive mode is not a valid operation. Specify the ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification from a service application."

2) How to set the connection string in websetup file?

If the page involve database connection, it totally gives "Server Error", and the page cannot be viewed at all.

Please help me with the problem i'm facing.. I will appreciate your help..

Browse the path option in Web Setup project

I using visual studio 2005's webset up project .When i install the path taken is wwwroot in c. I want to prompt for a path selection . like a browse button. when we browse a path the the application should get instaled in that path .Please help

I have created a setup(.msi format) and when I install it in win2k system, it is showing this error:

The installer was interrupted before [product name] Could Not be Installed

However it was working somedays before. Any one suggest with any solution please!!!

Its working fine in windows XP systems, not working with windows 2000 servers.....

Any solution???/

How to publish a web application in visual studio 2005 using deployment?

Setup Project VS 2008 : Create Web Site, make changes in event viewer, enable MS DTC

Hi,

By default the Setup project creates a virtual directory under Default website when run through command prompt.

Please can some one help me to create a new web site instead of virtual directory. I have created custom actions but not able to create a website.

Also, please let me know if there is any way to make changes to envet viewer and can we enable MS DTC from setup project code.

Any help in this matter is highly appreciated

Automatically give the ASPNET user access to the App_Data Folder

Hi I am trying to create an installer that installs a published website and grants access to the App_Data folder for the ASPNET user.

I have used the Web Deployment Project to install the published website but cannot figure out how to set the App_Data folder permissions for the ASPNET user.

At the moment I have to manually set the folder permissions in the security tab of the folder (everything except full control) after installing the website.

Does anyone know if there's a way of doing this in the installer?

Control exists in both dll

Hi,

I create web project using asp.net2.0 with c#.

Right click my project add select web deployment project menu.

web deployment created and i build the deployment project error is occur.

The error is given bellow

Control Ambiguos Name

I have a control created in the web site project. and i re used it in two Master Pages. When i build the web site i have a successful build. but when i build my web deployment project it says that i have control ambiguos name. any help would be appreciated.

I create msi file using vs 2005.

msi file contain app_data folder.

App_Data folder has mdf file.

when i run that msi mdf file attached to database.

I want to attach some table updated mdf file to existing same database.

how can i do.

How can i change "Default Web Site " to any domain name.
