Improved ORM Model Designer and New Monitoring Capabilities for the New Version of ADO.NET Data Providers

Devart has recently announced the release of dotConnect products for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite ADO.NET providers that offer Entity Framework support, LINQ to SQL support, and contain an ORM model designer for developing LINQ to SQL and EF models based on different database engines.

Entity Developer 2.50, a designer for modeling and code generation for ADO.NET Entity Framework and LINQ to SQL, included in Professional Edition of every dotConnect, was greatly improved. Now Entity Developer allows to view and edit data of tables, views, and model entities, create and execute Entity SQL, LINQ to Entities, and LINQ to SQL queries against the model, eliminating the need for additional applications and reducing time for accessing these operations.

Code generation for models was completely redesigned. New T4 like template language allows you to use the full power of C# or Visual Basic in the templates, allowing virtually anything you may want for code generation. Template editor now provides syntax highlighting, code completion, and parameter information features. Syntax highlighting allows you to easily distinguish text and code blocks.

The model got two new properties, affecting code generation: File Per Class and View Generation. The File Per Class property allows placing each model class to a separate file, and View Generation adds code for pre-generating views for Entity Framework models.

In LINQ to SQL, dotConnect providers offer better performance and new DbLinqDataSource class.

To ease the database application development, integration with improved Devart dbMonitor was added, allowing you to monitor interaction with database remotely.

MissingMethod exception cant find Can't find PInvoke DLL 'sqlite3.dll'

Hi friends, i am new in compact framework. i know this is a asp.net forum site but i have to address my error here.

thats why i m posting my error message here.

i am using compact framework with C# and SQLite as my database.when I am trying to connect to database i have got error

message "missing method exception Can't find PInvoke DLL 'sqlite3.dll'."

i m using sqlite3 dll which one was downloaded from http://www.sqlite.org/index.html.

I have already download the sqlite3 dll from your site.
i have copy paste the same into my application folder and into my windows folder.
i am working on compact framework as i wanna develop mobile application.
i m using dot net compact framework with C# and SQlite as my database.
when i m using this dll to connect to database,
i got the error

"missing method exception Can't find PInvoke DLL 'sqlite3.dll'."

can you please help me..
i cant fix whats going wrong here,

i m totally stuck here..

We're looking for developers to help test Squilbo, starting within the next few weeks.

Squilbo lets you work with databases from your web browser. It's a simple tool designed for the SQL-savvy developer. It supports long running queries, multiple queries at once, batches, keyboard shortcuts, editable result sets, schema browsing and saving of queries. Deployment should be straight forward - just upload to your ASP.NET hosting or company intranet.

Version 1.0 will support MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Sql Server 2000, Postgres, Oracle and Sqlite are in the pipeline too.

Smarties 2008 1.3.0 has been released

In this release you would find eight more database engines added to BO/VBO Generator feature of Smarties 2008. Please see the full list of supported database engines below. To compliment BO/VBO Generator a new timesaver command called Extract DTO Class has also been added. Please see the command in action. This new feature would also serve you for creating similar classes using the concept of DTO. Eight enhancements have been made to Smarties 2008 as well plus few bug fixes.

We have decided not to include DAO as part of BO/VBO Generator even though we worked on it for a few days to see what we could do about it without thinking OR/M. As we have stated before Smarties 2008 is not going to be an OR/M but quickly we found that touching DAO would force us to go all the way to OR/M. I'll blog about this more but for now I would like share this with you. Not everyone uses OR/M even though an OR/M's entity generator can do the bulk of work for you by creating the entity classes as well as collection types and so on. What about the developers who don't wish to use OR/M? This is where Smarties 2008 comes to your rescue by generating the flat entities and the collection types with various timesavers options such as Smart Interfaces very qucikly within VS IDE. With a total of nine database engines supported in Smarties 2008 it should make many developers happy to have the capability at their feet.

sqlite providers

I dunno if anyone tried it before I just check codeproject.com and here but could not find this kind ready to use system. anyway I made sqlite profile provider and took membership and role provider from here.

can you tell me your ideas and test results about this sqlite membership role profile providers.
