Cannot install Microsoft Provisioning Framework and I can't see why

Greetings.

A customer wants me to provide a solution based on his current infrastructure (Windows Server 2003 / MPS ) so I'm intend to install a development environment on my laptop. However, when I'm installing the Microsoft Provisioning Framework I got this message from the MPF Enterprise Edition Setup:

Cannot complete: The Microsoft Provisioning Framework Setup Wizard was interrupted before MPF could be installed.

Any Ideas?

This is what I have in my laptop following the software requirements of MPF:

Microsoft® Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 2 (I installed Windows Server 2008 standard)
SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 1 (I installed SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP3)
Microsoft® Data Access Components (MDAC) version 2.61 (I installed the version 2.8)
Microsoft® Internet Information Server (IIS) version 5.0 (I installed the version 7 packed with Windows Server 2008 standard)

Since the system requirements allows later versions of each software, I assumed the versions I used will be ok. However something is not. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Hi,

I have HMC 4.5 without Hosted OCS in production.
Now I am trying add Hosted OCS.
I successfully followed HMC4.5 Help and deployed OCS without errors during Procedure W08-DWHO.58: To deploy Office Communications Server 2007 services provisioning,

and sucessfuly completed Procedure RUN.3: To add the sample Hosted Office Communications Server 2007 Organization Plan

but stuck on Procedure RUN.4: To add the sample Hosted Office Communications Server 2007 User Plan
with "Invalid planType." error:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Hosting\Provisioning\Samples\Hosted Office Communications Server>provtest CreateUserPlan.xml /x2

After further investigation I have found that in ServicePlanTypes table of PlanManager database does not exist OCSUserHosting Plan Type.

How to create that Plan Type?

Please Help, anybody?

Send As Permissions to a Public Folder in MPS

Hi all

I have created a Mail Enabled Public Folder using the Provisioning Engine but the customer is now wanting to be able to reply to emails using the public folder.

Does anyone know the LDAP path or name to refer to the public folder to apply sendas permissions

my XML currently stands as

I tried a csvde -f which gave me a CN=###foldername###,CN=Microsoft Exchange System Objects,DC=###,DC=### for which I receive the error "Inavlid Customer" if I try using this as the path in the above query.

Any thoughts?

I'm maby not the best suited to answer your question but I can say that i'm using the MPS SDK to query the hosted exchange enviroment. If you want i can supply you with some info and code. There might be better solutions like using the webbservice instead of the client wrapper. My application is for my enviroment and it works. Just need to find time to develop :)

Error with CreateIIWResellerOrganization

Please help. I can create first level resellers under the Hosting OU but cannot create sub resellers i.e.

--Hosting
       gmsl7.com (ok)
            org1.com (ok)
            test1234.com (fails)

Here is the exception i get.

submit xml request via VB script

I'm looking for an example how to submit xml requests to MPS by VB script code.

In HMC 4.5 documentation there is a reference to a script named "mpfcomcreateuser.vbs", but this file is nowhere to find:

For an example of fully functional Microsoft Visual Basic script code that automates the processes of creating the XML string and submitting it to the MPF COM Client, right-click the Mpfcomcreateuser.vbs script located in \Samples\Provisioning\scripts on Microsoft Hosting Solutions for Service Providers. Then select Edit on the menu that appears. You can also use this script to submit an XML request to the Provisioning Engine to create a new user account in Active Directory.

You only need to provide command-line arguments that specify the various parameters required to provision the user account. For script functional details, copy the script to your C:\ directory and then display script Help by running the following command string:

c:\>cscript.exe mpfcomcreateuser.vbs /?

Does anybody have a VB script example to learn how it works?

(or could provide me the mpfcomcreateuser.vbs)
