Hi, no the code is not executing -- it is as though subroutines with LinkButton events do not process database commands. I have both Button and LinkButton subroutines with the same code on the same page; the Button subroutine works perfectly, the LinkButton subroutine does not. And I am testing with new (unique) values each time; the Button subroutine posts the new record, the LinkButton subroutine does not. Thanks.

LinkButton Not Functioning Properly With Partial Rendering

The dynamically created LinkButton click event in my Update Panel (Masterpage) is not firing as expected when EnablePartialRendering is set to "true". I need to have partial rendering turned on for the pages that use this section of code , but I'm not sure what the problem is. If I set EnablePartialRendering to false, the page works as expected. Basically, the code is populating something similar to a Shopping Cart on the right side nav, with the ability to "Remove" an object from the cart. If EnablePartialRendering="true" I can add/remove objects into the cart by using the clickable Image for that product, but if I click "Remove" in the cart, it doesn't work the first time. If I click it a second time it will remove the item as normal, however none of the other LinkButtons or Buttons on the page will fire. The modifyList() function is called from various pages whenever an item on that page is selected. I can include a sample of that if necessary. Any suggestions are appreciated. Please let me know if you need anything else!

LinkButton vs Submit button

I have a web control that has a few text boxes on it. If I submit the page using the Button, I see the TextBox.Text properties are restored to the values I entered during the OnLoad event handler. If I change the definition from Button to LinkButton, the exact same code does not have the TextBox.Text properties set during the same event handler. What is different between the LinkButton and the other Button control which might explain this behavior?

My LinkButton does not have its CommandName property set.

I have a void in my understanding about LinkButtons and view state. I have a web page that has text boxes on it. If I use a normal button on the page, the textboxes will have their text values set after a postback to the values I entered before submit. If I change the Button to a LinkButton (the only change I made), the text boxes will not have their text values set. The LinkButton has an OnClick Handler and its CommandName is empty. According according to the documentation, the LinkButton should be have just like a Submit button. However, that is not what is happening.

Dear developers,

I have a Gridview and i was add a TemplateField. And i was add LinkButton in the TemplateField.
When the LinkButton clicked running OnRowCommand events. I get Datakey (its ID) use a SQL query in the OnRowCommand event.
Yes i get datakey.

int rowindex = ((GridViewRow)(((LinkButton)(e.CommandSource)).Parent.Parent)).RowIndex;
string dkey = GridView1.DataKeys[rowindex].Value.ToString();

This commands giving datakey.

But when a was sorted Gridview datakeys doesnt change. But it paged datakeys changes.
Im explaining it an basic grid example.

4 value4    coming datakey = 4

when i was sorted the grid.

9 value9    coming datakey = 1 (wheras it will be 9 (beacuse id is datakey. datakey is id))
8 value8    coming datakey = 2 (wheras it will be 8 (beacuse id is datakey. datakey is id))
7 value7    coming datakey = 3
6 value6    coming datakey = 4
5 value5    coming datakey = 5
4 value4    coming datakey = 6
3 value3    coming datakey = 7
2 value2    coming datakey = 8
1 value1    coming datakey = 9

dynamically create LinkButton for each record

I want a 'delete' asp link button created dynamically, for each record that I display in my table. I am getting a compilation error. I guess I am mixing client-side and server-side calls. All I want to do is when the user clicks 'Delete' on btnLnk it should run this command: DeleteRecord(bloodGlucose.Key.Id.ToString());

Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'void' to 'string' on line 5

Here is my code, please check and suggest correction:

LinkButton + ToolTip + Disappear

I'm using a LinkButton and want to show a ToolTip.

These are steps I followed.

Create LinkButton
Give a value to ToolTip property,

Problem.

When I mouseover the link the button tooltip it shows and disappears after a while. Then it won't show again until I refresh the page.

I want to see the tooltip whenever I mouseover the the linkbutton without refreshing.

please help...
