Problem with IIS root detection

I publish my website to a virtual directory, when I run the application some of the images have not been found and the links were broken, I checked Urls and got my application root is detected as "/" instead of "/virtualdirectoryname". I test IIS 6.0 and also IIS 5.1.

how can I force IIS to use "/virtualdirectoryname" as Request.ApplicationPath

I am looking at new web hosts, currently with DiscountASP. I need multi domain hosting, Windows 2008 & SQL 2008. I have narrowed down my choices and want to gather some opinons from the crowd here.

SoftSys, Server Intellect (although they are just at 2003 for both Windows & SQL), ASPNix, Applied Innovations. I love DiscountASP but cannot afford to have multiple accounts with them. What do you guys think of the names above, or if I missed one, let me know. I have also been looking for SmarterMail & SmarterStats, which all the above have, but not that big of an issue.

Hosting in Localhost

Hi,
i have my application written in .net 3.5, My IIS is of version 5.1.
When i tried to host my application in IIS(5.1) by creating a virtual directory and specifying the path of the application folder (which is in D drive in my machine). When i tried to browse the start page i'm getting 'oops link broken' error.. i dono how is this happening.. kindly help..

Hi, I currently have an ASP.NET website running smoothly through local host. In other words, if i visit http://(my ip address) then my website pops up and is fully navigable. I have two issues.

1. Other computers can't access my website. If they type in the IP address, they get a connection time out.

2. I would like to configure DNS such that I could just type in http://myWebsite/ and everyone on my company's intranet can access it.

I am currently running IIS 7.0, Windows Server 2003, and VS 2008.

Hosting and Domain Coordination...

Hi,

Can anybody explain, what is the relation and relevance co-ordination between webhosting and domain registration. Is it mandatory to purchase both in single company? Because I already purchased some domains in one company which is not providing windows hosting. That’s way I chosen another company for webhosting. Is it mandatory to transfer all my domains to that company where I purchased the web space?

I am really confused in these processes.

So please guide me with appropriate information.

What are best methods for this process?

Why we need to transfer our domains to another company?

and etc...

My company having departments

Like trade, health etc,.

So I would like to manage my domain names as follows

Trade.mycompanyname.com

Health.mycompanyname.com

So how to register such kind of names...

I registered mycompanyname.com already

And

1. How to host a single web application with two different domain names?

2. What is Host Domain?

if you have few hunderd thousands customers you can survive in shared hosting account but if millions of users then go ahead for VPS

other sites on shared obviously put impact on overall performance which you have to compromise... but if your site is on its own Application pool somehow you are saved at some extent.

for more specific solutions/opinions i would suggest you to directly consult with hosting sites like

discountasp.net

webhost4life.com

godaddy.com

and many more you can find. just talk to them for specific suggestion.

and also in .net3.5 and sql server 2008

i would like to host it in India for my small business firm

so i need unlimited bandwidth on both storage and transferring data

and good technical support.

First of all the main usage of my website is to keep the information of my company ( this is my primary and essential use)

I can not find Crystal Reports support on the page mentioned above. It will be much better to get VSP ASP.NET Hosting if you would like to use Crystal Reports.
