Re: Hosted Exchange on 1 server

Re: Smallest Solution for MPS 2.0 Physically Possible
It states in the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Resource Kit that the entire solution can be run on one server; but there is no documentation in the kit on how to do it. :( Anyway, the number of servers per se isn't my problem. I'm wondering what problems I would encounter trying to install the solution into an already functioning domain? I already have a SQL box up and running, an Exchange box up and running, 2 AD boxes, etc. I can in put a new box into service for the actual provisioning components

Re: New Customer Setup and OAB Generation
I have a couple of comments and a couple of questions: First, there is another post going on here on this, which I will reference here for any one interested: http://forums.asp.net/990138/ShowPost.aspx Secondly, according to the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Resource Kit, it is possible to run this all on one server, though other than that one statement, they give no instructions as to how! OK, now some questions: I have a separate SQL server box in production already. I'm also running ISA Server

Re: New Customer Setup and OAB Generation
Hi John, Don't mean to keep jumping in on this thread, but I would be very interested in the outline of how you implemented the MS Solution using fewer servers. I would also be interested in the exact permission tweaks you made when using the manual provisioning described on msexchange.org too, if it wouldn't be too much trouble. Thanks, JK

Re: New Customer Setup and OAB Generation
I'm sorry I can't answer your question, however I would certainly appreciate hearing more about your experience in deploying in a smaller environment. Any information or guidance you could provide would be welcome. JK

Re: how to enable https
Yup, all of those things were done. And obviously it had some effect, because when you try to connect to the site, you get the error that you need to connect securely--and that is when connecting using https:// I uncheck the box and I can connect using http:// or https:// just fine. I have never used this feature before but there are about 200 sites on the server and probably 20 of them are configured with certificates. I only tested this on one site. Actually it was a sub-site, created from inside

Re: how to enable https
Thanks. I guess my problem was a little different. I was trying to "Require Secure Channel - SSL" in IIS on a specific web site, but even though https:// requests are being sent, the server will not seem to recognize them and constantly gives the error that a secure connection is required to access this site. :( JK

Re: User Authentication Problems with MAC client
I understand that passwords/user names will be sent via clear text. That is not (at this point) a problem with this client. Yes, a different browser has seemed to solve the problem with all the users that have reported back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the rest will also be able to logon. I'll post up if there are still problems. Thanks again for the help. JK
