  This are called sub-domain .. you can create a sub-folder under you main site say xyx and add an A xyz.yourdomain.com If you are using a control panel ..like plesk it would be great.

  You can search for a hosting company first ..as presently most of the hosting companies help you with domain registration as well. Check for your webpage requirements accordingly you can decided weather you wish to get windows hosting or linux hosting.
