Re: Application variable string getting edited
No, there aren't two strings .I did a search on the entire code! And nowhere is it being reset either. Thats why I find this behavior strange. We will not want a local variable as this is better off in the config file incase any changes are required to the connections.

Webservices on low network bandwidth
Hi, One of my client has a low network bandwidth(56 kbps only) across all branches. I am contemplating on whether to go ahead with webservices as a solution or simple HTTP requests. This may have been discussed before, any pointers to those posts are also appreciated.

Re: Webservices on low network bandwidth
@ vik20000in: Could you please elaborate on "it depends on requirement"? Here is my requirement: My clients, located at multiple locations, hit a centrally located server. These clients need to call the server and the server calls a professional web service. What I am to design is an interface that will call the server from clients. Client to server is a 56kbps and beyond the server is a 2mbps connection. My only confusion was to call the web service through a web service or a .net component

Application variable string getting edited
Hi, I am facing a weird issue wherein my connection string parameter is getting edited out of the string when called from another page. Actual Connection string in the config file : "Provider=MSDASQL;Driver={SQL Server};Server=<servername>;DataBase=ABC;User Id=user;Password=*********;" When I call this elsewhere it gets written as : "Provider=MSDASQL;Server=<servername>;DataBase=ABC;User Id=user;Password=*********;" The "Driver={SQL Server};" parameter gets

Re: Microsoft certification exams
Hi, Any certification in .net needs you to start with exam 70-536. After that you may go on to earn any of the certifications desired. MCTS is the starting. You may go onto MCPD after that.
