Re: Getting Remote Computer Name
I'm building a simple directory. In this directory there will be a page which displays an image which tells you where you are. I named those image according to the computer's name. So it displays different image for different stations. I currently trying to get the computer name from the same lan network. IP Address would not work as it's dynamic.

Getting Remote Computer Name
Hi, I have hosted my site on IIS 5.1 and I want to retrieve the computer name which is accessing my webpage.I'm currently using the following code but sometimes it returns me with a number instead of the computer's name. Dim computer_name As String() = System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(Request.ServerVariables("remote_addr")).HostName.Split(New [Char]() {"."c}) Dim ecn As [String] = System.Environment.MachineName

If the page is being use a timer will reset and if the page is not being used it will redirect to another page. Is there something

Re: Allow remote access to SQL Server 2008
I have tried the link you provided http://geekswithblogs.net/ranganh/archive/2005/05/25/40503.aspx in this case the writer is using sever 2003. Thus instead of [Server/Domain Name]\IIS_WPG what I have should be [Server/Domain Name]\ASPNET am I right?. Could it be the problem of the way I connect to the database? This is the code I use to connect to the database. Dim conn As New SqlConnection _ ("data source=localhost; initial catalog=TPActivities;" & _ "integrated security=true"

Re: Allow remote access to SQL Server 2008
should I be using SQL Authentication or Windows Authentication? They are both rather similar. Which will work best for my case? Where the is a pop up requesting for username and password.
