Re: Nested Master Page correspondince
Thanks for the response again and sorry for the confusion. What I am trying to do is have the content in Main.Master page in the design view run when I debug in the default.aspx page. When I debug the site, It prompts to a login page, from there it takes me to default.aspx where I should be able to see the content from main.master When I debug I only see the login information on the left but do not see the personalportalcontent on the right cell which the book's example says I should see. Re: Nested Master Page correspondince
Well both of you were right. Although I had to get rid of the content code in default.aspx The default.aspx page works now with this: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" MasterPageFile="~/MasterPages/Main.master" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %> Thanks for all your help

Re: Nested Master Page correspondince
Thank you for your response. After a restart, I no longer get errors, but I am not able to display the Main.Master nested masterpage in the PersonalPortalContent cell in my default.aspx page. I have followed the code in the book exactly. The "other page" in the above code is the default.aspx page.

Re: Unable to connect to SQL Server database
Thank you, I have went through those steps. Everything is a check. I have been able to link the database with VWD and create some pages with the data such as gridviews. Its just when I go into the security tab to create a user login is where I get the "Unable to connect to SQL Server database" I am currently looking to see if the role manager is the problem.

Unable to connect to SQL Server database
Unfortunately I have run into a problem where I am not able to access my security settings in the asp.net configuration. I get: "Unable to connect to SQL Server Database." I have run aspnet_regsql.exe like it suggested but no help. I previously connected a sqlserver 2008 database to visual web developer 2008 sp1 My web research has turned up empty. Thank you
