Can't make database backup
I can't make a backup copy of my database in SQL MANAGEMENT STUDIO EXPRESS 2008 and I don't know why. The trigger text just doesn't want to get active.

Re: Can't make database backup
I copied the database and attached it. Looks like the path/name is the same regardless of the new location but I the backup works on this one. Thank you very much!

Re: Can't make database backup
No that's just the path to the database. I tried copying the database to another hard drive but I can't open it with Studio Management. It says editor not installed.

Re: Can't make database backup
You mean somewhere on my PC or on a remote location?

Is it true that Access VBA function calls don't work in ASP.NET?
I have an Access database and a VBA function in a module. I need that function for my query to work but when I call the query from ASP.NET, it won't work. I get an error "function not defined". I browsed through the net and I found out this doesn't work in ASP.NET. Is it true and if it is, how can we get around it?

How can a logged in user connect to a database?
Hi, I authenticate users with Login control. How can I make them access the database? I created a new table with some custom data that will be available for editing to the user and I want them to query a database but I don't know how. I can't use a connectionString with uid and pwd because I can only access the user's username with Profile.Username so how can I make users query a database?

Re: Login & Membership controls suck! Nothing works
persistendDeveloper: Thank you. I know I can hash and un-hash passwords and restore them that way but that's not the solution. Passwords "brake" everytime I try to change them via PasswordChange control. If I have users on my website, I can't manually reset their password everytime they try to change them. I wish I knew what's causing this. hans_v: I'm not saying I don't want to learn. I WANT to learn but after I tried making Login and Membership controls from scratch

Re: Login & Membership controls suck! Nothing works
Thank you, I will take a look at the CommonData@CodePlex. I'm relieved knowing that's a common problem in .NET and not just me. It's been driving me crazy ever since it started occuring.

Re: How can a logged in user connect to a database?
But that's the thing. I can't get user credentials because I use a Login control and a Membership system. Default database is ASPNETDB.MDF. I created another table there and I would like the user to access that data and edit it. So I can't use a connectionString like provider.db.uid.pwd because I don't have credentials. I can get username at most but that's it.

Login & Membership controls suck! Nothing works
I tried adding ChangePassword to the application and when I tried to test the ChangePassword, it wouldn't work. No matter what I entered, it would always give me "password entered incorrect. needs to be 7char min....". So I clear my cookies and now I can't log in. It says. LOGIN FAILED. I figured maybe the password change worked before but it gave me the error so I tried the pass I entered to change and it won't work. This is exactly why I don't like these kinds of built
