Re: Make sure that the class defined in this code file matches the 'inherits' attribute, and that it extends the correct base class (e.g. Page or UserControl).
Yesterday I compiled this web on a Windows 7 PC. After compiling the web, I copied it back on the the Vista/Windows 7 PC. The application then compiled. Today I tried to compile a subweb on the Vista/Windows 7 PC and got this error: Could not load type 'IsapiModule'. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Web

I don't know if this will help with diagnosing this problem but the pc that I'm having problems compiling on was originally Vista (although I never used it as such). It is also a Toshiba Satellite laptop. I did not reformat this laptop before installing Windows 7 on top of the Vista OS. I just updated this laptop with all of the most recent Windows updates and relevant optional updates today and tried to compile but still ended up with the same error. I have another pc that was reformatted

Re: Make sure that the class defined in this code file matches the 'inherits' attribute, and that it extends the correct base class (e.g. Page or UserControl).
Now I'm even more baffled. I excluded the aspx/aspx.cs pages that were causing the error. I added a new aspx page with a totally different name and used the generated class. I referenced this generated new page and the first error I received was on using System.Linq ; . My web is targeting .net 3.5. per the suggestion on the MS page I found, it suggested adding System.Core as a reference to the solution. Although it was already listed as a reference, I double clicked on it. The System.Linq error

Make sure that the class defined in this code file matches the 'inherits' attribute, and that it extends the correct base class (e.g. Page or UserControl).
For the life of me I can't figure out what is causing this error. I have copied and pasted the namespace and the class name into inherits on the .aspx page. I had this compiled and working but now since I switched my development PC to Visual Studio 2008 on a Windows 7 OS, I can no longer compile. I don't have any old code with section12.PicturesAjax in it. Hopefully you'll see what I'm missing and clue me in. Help! PicturesAjax .aspx code: <%@ page language="c#" autoeventwireup

Thanks for the quick response. I deleted Codebehind="PicturesAjax.aspx.cs" from the <%@page ... but unfortunately I still get the same error. Any other suggestions?

Re: Trouble compiling to make a dll
I finally figured out my problem. I wasn't running VS as an administrator. I had this set on the program properties on my old development PC and just never thought about it on my new PC.

Re: Trouble compiling to make a dll
Even though I created the applications in IIS I do open the site in VS using file->Open website. Are you suggesting that I remove the applications in IIS and then do a file Open Website? I have changed my default website to my working folder using IIS. My default website is no longer inetpub. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Trouble compiling to make a dll
Hi, I just switched development PCs. First, I copied my development web directory from an XP PC to a Vista PC. Second, I created all of my webs as applications in IIS. Third, I opened one of my webs in Visual Studio 2005 and it converted without any errors. I next chose to build the website. I received no errors BUT a dll wasn't created in the bin folder as usual. I'm sure I just forgot some really basic setup that I need in VS '05 but for the life of me I can't find/remember anything

Microsoft Webcontrol tabstrip on Windows Server 2008
I'm trying to move webpages from a Windows Server 2003 (where everything worked correctly) to Windows Server 2008. I've worked through most of the problems that have been encountered but am having a problem getting the Microsoft WebControl - TabStrip to work correctly. When the pages are viewed with IE the tabs work fine but when viewed in Firefox the tabs are all smashed together. Has anyone encountered this problem and if so how did you handle the problem? We have a lot of pages that use
