  Hi, I have used JSON jquery to populate drop downlist asynchronously, everything works well.. No I have two queries 1) I need the value of drop down list in the code behind, how to achieve this??? 2) When the drop down list gets populated , I checked view source of page but I saw empty select tag why so???   hey atconway, sorry for replying late, but the threads given above doesnt solve my problem.. let me describe you my problem in more detail . I using cascading drop down list, the user selects bank name and the respective branch names get populated in the next drop down list. Now for some of the bank name branche name are populated perfectly. But for some it throws method error 500. I tried to debug the service and checked that the dataset has all the values and so the CascadingDropDownNameValue has

• Load more than 9000 records in drop down list

  Hello, I have a requirement to load more than 9000 records in a drop down list through AJAX. I tried using cascadingDropDownList but it throws method error 500. Please note for records less than 1000 cascadingDropDownList works perfectly. Furthermore I also tried populating dropdownlist using JQuery and JSON , but it takes reasonable amount of time to populate 9000 records. Also note that I cannot use update panel, because the GUI is built in such a way that I can't place update panel. Please

  Thanks Stevew, Vinz I finally solved my problem by adding FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie method... But now i m facing another problem. Everything works fine when I run my application from VS 20005. But when I hosted my application on IIS, it throws error : The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted I tried using Basic authentication, but it gives popup. I dont want this as I am already authenticating my user through active directory. Can you throw some light on this method

  Hi, I am using Forms authentiation and using LDAP at backend to authenticate users. Can anyone tell me what are the settings I need to feed into IIS. Because when I used Anonymous access it throws following error The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. and when I use Basic authentication, a popup gets fired. which results in asking authentication credentials twice..
