Re: SQL Server Reporting Services 2008
I would also suggest utilizing a VPS if you want to have granular control over SSRS 2008. This would also give you the ability to run whatever reporting package you want to run in the future rather than being locked down to the providers choice.

Re: web address changing to ip address
I agree with MrRadic, I have seen this in ASP and PHP. Check the script configuration files to see if you can find anything that refiers to your static ip address and change it to the domain name. Hope it works out for ya.

Re: how do I disable Windows Powershell on Windows 2008?
Hmm that is interesting but I am not sure that powershell would be the problem in that situation. Did you check the event log to see if there was anything that corresponded to that point in time?

HMC Demos
Does anyone have a good source for HMC flash demos or screenshots, I need something to provide clients that will give them a good picture of the total solution and I would rather not sit down and make the video's myself if there is something out there.

MPS Demos
Does anyone have a source for demos and screenshots of MPS? I am specifically looking for something to use in customer demonstrations and would rather not have to create them myself if I dont have to.

Re: is there free aspx hosting ?
Every single free shared package for ASP that I have seen has some real hefty restrictions. Unless your hosting a static page I am afraid that you wont find anything suitable in the $free$ range. But like others have said, shared accounts come pretty cheap these days and they give you access to all of the currently standard features that you might need. I would not suggest hosting it yourself unless you are a systems administrator or simply want to learn about it. There is a lot of overhead in hosting

Re: how do I disable Windows Powershell on Windows 2008?
I am a bit curious about why you want to disable windows powershell. Has anyone ever seens an exploit of the powershell feature via ASP? I am not questioning your decision, I would simply like to know myself if this is something that I should be concerned with security wise.

Re: web Hosting in Yahoo
Honestly I would look elsewhere for hosting, yahoo seems to be nothing but trouble for anyone that I have dealt with that uses them for hosting. They are just as bad as GoDaddy. If you are going to go with a PHP/MySQL host then find a medium sized company that can respond to your in an intelligent manner via live chat or on the phone. Typically I would say that you should look into a host that provide "cPanel" as it is the defacto standard for linux hosts.

Re: virtual directory default page is not opening
Another option for this type of stuff (while your testing) is to modify your hosts files on your client machine to "fake" the dns. Typically your hosts file resides at: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (there is no extension on this file... keep it that way) you can open it in notepad So say you had a named based virtual site that has a host header value of www.acmecoding.com and you wanted to preview the site before making any dns changes. Open the previously mentioned hosts file

Needed Webpart that runs custom commands on the host
I need a webpart for our administation backend that allows us to run a command on the host machine like copy x y, etc. I have looked around a bit but I am not finding anything that jumps out at me. Does anyone have a link to a webpart that provides this functionality?
