Re: Gridview manipulation with Javascript
Bind, not so sure it's possible. Look through the grid, yes, I can see that working because a gridview is rendered as a <table> so I can certainly see how you could potentially loop through the <tr> & <td> items. So my guess is, yes, it's possible.

Re: Image icons on webpage
146k is nothing in today's world. Most people are on a high speed internet connection. Heck, I'm sure some pages have even single images that are this size or more. So no, in my opinion, no way is this 146k causing your page's slowness.

Re: asp:panel - problem setting visibility
Post your full code. What you describe should not cause any errors, if that's all that's going on. I suspect you have more going on...

Re: asp:panel - problem setting visibility
Have you tried running in debug mode to see where the exception occurs? The code you show looks OK.

Re: AjaxControlToolkit Editor
What's your confusion? It's part of the latest AJAX Control Toolkit. Try here: http://www.asp.net/AJAX/AjaxControlToolkit/Samples/HTMLEditor/HTMLEditor.aspx

Re: Async PostBack OR Bluff!!!
The event lifecycle is the same of the normal postback for the page events, but for the controls events, only those controls associates with the updatepanel update process are executed
I disagree with this statement. Even controls that are not associated with the updatepanel will have their events triggered on partial postback.

Re: asp:panel - problem setting visibility
How odd. OK, how about removing the panel from your markup and re-adding a new panel. I have seen cases where this odd behavior happens and is resolved by removing the control in question, and re-adding it.

Re: AjaxControlToolkit Editor
It would help if you state your needs clearly from the beginning so we don't have to guess at it. Anyway, try this link: http://www.asp.net/Learn/Ajax-Control-Toolkit/tutorial-50-cs.aspx

Re: asp:panel - problem setting visibility
Your page being in a subfolder should not be an issue. I use subfolders all the time. Moving your code behind file to the app_code folder is not a good solution in my opinion. It may be a workaround, but I don't personally like it.

Re: asp:panel - problem setting visibility
OK. Create a brand new aspx page under the same subfolder. Copy the minimum code from your existing page, to this new page. Does it work? If so, maybe you can then copy the rest of your code from the existing to the new, and eventually delete the existing and go with the new :-)
