  Hi All, Iam developing a web app vs.net 2.0.in my web page, i have no. of textboxes.when i enter some value in firstname(first textbox)and when press tab and try to enter value in second textbox,meanwhile i should go database and should find whether any record is there with the first name or not,if record exists then i should fill data in all my textboxes....for this on which event of text box i have to write the code to go to database.pls help me.its urgent.

  Once again thank you very much for ur reply...actually i want to give one textbox n want to give like a menu control below of that text box...then when click some 'a' in the text box..then the menu items has to show all the items with 'a' letter..I can say it like in some sites when we click on contacts..then it will show contacts with that alphabet automatically...Hope u understood my idea...could u give any suggestion about this pleas...

  Yeah,its working fine na...you can put mouse on your req field validator for a while..then tooltip will be appeared...I dint get that whats your actual problem is....req field val is working fine n also tooltip is working fine...now I want to know your problem...can u pls post again ur problem clearly.....
