hi there, Currently, ASP.NET 4 Framework is still in Beta Phase and the full release is due to be out on March or April 2010. However, you can always take an advantage to test-drive the features of this framework and you can download the framework directly from http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010/default.mspx . Should you need an ASP.NET 4 hosting, you can always consider ASPHostCentral as they have well supported this technology on all their newest Windows Server 2008 R2 environment

  • Re: Host ASP.NET 4 site. How do I?

hi vorlosha, You can actually download the beta version at http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010/default.mspx . If you install ASP.NET 4 Framework on the server, you will notice that there are 2 applications pools created automatically. One app pool is for serving ASP.NET4 Classic mode and the other one is for ASP.NET4 Integrated mode. Usually, when you create your site on IIS, it will be automatically assigned ASP.NET2 pool and therefore, you have to manually assign it to .NET4

  • Re: Web hosting provider with full SQL Server

hi eugene, There are several steps that you need to do to ensure a smooth transition to a new host: 1. Please ask for a temporary URL from your new host. This temo URL is truly important so that you can preview your site on their server, even before you are doing the DNS changes 2. Please upload all your files to the required folder. 3. Please restore your database on their server 4. Once everything is done, please use the temp URL given to test your site. If things work out according to your requirements

  • Re: hosting my local mssql 2005 database to the hosting company's mssql 2008 ? is that poccible

hi ujjawal, there are several cause of this problem: 1. Your current host re-route its default database port to other port. This is why you receive the error message: "The server cannot be found". As per what is written on your connection string, you are using the "default" connection string to localhost. If your host change the default port to other port, your connection will not be able to find a db on a default localhost port. 2. Your host may not allow remote db connection

  • Re: Cheap Asp.net Web Hosting

hi there, how can you define "cheap" here? How much is your monthly budget? Obviously, everyone does like a "bargain" price, but it does not mean that "cheap" stuffs are always good. To me, if you spend $5-$10 a month for hosting, that is decent and reasonable.

  • Re: Recomendation for Virtual Private server

[quote user="Enroth"] As I remember, 2 directors of Ultima had a quarrel and divided the company. They both washed their dirty linen in public, sent rude emails to the customers and asked to stay with them. One of them took control over company's Paypal account, another one over the servers ... The customers were in the middle and have had lots of problems. I'd avoid using any of their present companies. All company's problems must be solved inside the office and must not affect
