  Create a webusercontrol header and add this one in each slave page. In your slave page you add an extra attribute. Example: < uc1 : header ID ="header1" Item ="1" runat ="server" /> In the sample code I have added the item attribute. Now add this in the code of your header webusercontrol: public string Item; Based on the value you can set the background you want. In this control you can change the id of the div. Don't forget the add runat="server"

  Please add some code, so others can see what you do. This makes it easier to answer. Make sure the datatype of your field in your database is of datetime. Then add data with datetime.now.
