Re: problem in ssrs report generated in new window (urgent)
When a report is generated , an entry is made into the Execution Log table in the Report Server database. You could reference this table to see if a Report has been generated.

Re: SQL 2005 Reporting Services...blank page at end in PDF and Print Layout mode
The page margin settings will help, but if you need the page margins for printing , the size of your controls also plays a part here. See the following article for more on this : Link

Re: Filtering in SQL Server reporting
So basically you are not allowed to have a filter in the Stored Procedure ? You want to bring all the data from the stored procedure and then filter this in the report itself ? You can do this using the filter property on the table or matrix object. Go into the properties of the table or matrix , select filter and you can set it up to filter on a column and you can even link this to a parameter.

Re: problem with page break.....
You have to set the page break on the group itself and not the page. If you're using RS 2008 , right click on the group name in the grouping pane, select properties, and select "Page Breaks" from the dialog box ( the second option ). If you check the box "Between each instance of a group" , then it should solve your problem. If you're using an earlier version, you can still add a page break at the group level. Go into the group properties dialog and check "Page Break

Re: Filtering in SQL Server reporting
Hi. You have to provide more details. Do you want to filter based on another selection ( ie. A cascading parameter ) ?

Re: Line Chart Report
The "diagonal" behavior is normal for the Line and Smooth Line charts. What you need is the new "Stepped" Line chart that's available in Reporting Services 2008. This is a Dundas chart , so if you're stuck with using RS 2000 or 2005, you might be able to purchase this as an add-in. From the description of your problem I think this chart would give you what you want.

Re: Problem with Dates in ReportViewer
It's probably changing the date format to the format of the production server. What I do is accept whatever format the server is set to and then re-format the date before sending it to my stored procedure. Have a look at the following article for a date formatting guide : Working with dates in reporting services

Re: Reporting Services with formatted text and paragraphs
If you're using RS 2008 , you can use Rich Text support. One way to achieve this is to include HTML tags in the actual text data coming from the database. Then , right click on the textbox you are displaying the data in , select "Create Placeholder" ( make sure that you are clicking just on the textbox and not on the entire tablix ), then in the dialog box choose "HTML - Interpret HTML tags as styles". Now , you HTML tags will be parsed and you can have nicely formatted text

Re: Reporting Services Authentication
The application you wrote will be probably need to connect to RS while impersonating a specific user. For example , if it's a ASP.NET web application , it might have to impersonate DOMAIN\User1 , and DOMAIN\User1 will need to have access to the Reporting Services instance. Where you set up which user your application impersonates depends on the type of application it is, but if it's a ASP.NET web application , you would normally do it in the web.config file.

Re: Reporting Services 2005 Date format Bug
You have to format the date before sending it to the stored procedure. See the following article : http://thavash.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!CF6232111374DFD2!155.entry
