Re: Access denied error
Thanks Zakke. I will try that now. I was able to see the methods in the "Add Web Reference..." window though but I could not actually "add" them to the project. I'll post the results of my test though and thanks again for the advice.

Access denied error
I am attempting to add several web references to my VS 2008 project. They reside on a remote server to which I am connected via VPN. I can "see" the WSDLs in the "add web reference window" however I can not add any of them due to an "Access Denied" error. I attempted to load the library on my local development server to see if that helped and I still have the same problem. I am using Vista Home Premium. I suspect a permission issue but can not seem to correct it even

Re: Installing the AJAX toolkit in VS2008 under Vista
Got it and thanks. The trick seems to be that I had to uninstall the extensions and the toolkit that was clogging up the works. Once I did that and re-installed everything is working well. What TV tuner do you use and recommend? I have Cable into my system now so that is a great idea.

Installing the AJAX toolkit in VS2008 under Vista
I have recently done a clean upgrade to Vista Home Premium and re-installed my VS 2008. I am now trying to install the toolkit and can not successfully do so. I can not locate the AJAXControlToolkit.dll anywhere on my drive after I expand the extender and the toolkit zip files. I can see the tools themselves if I open the "Sample" solution from the file containing the exploded contents of the zip files but I cannot locate the main DLL in order to create the toolkit tab. FYI, I had all of

Web service can not be launched from IE but works well via the "Testing Harness"
I am more than a bit baffled by this one. My web service works rather well from the VS2008 "Test Harness" but no matter what variation of the URL that I enter from IE, the server throws an error. Here is What I have done thus far and I am out of ideas: Set up a new Virtual Directory Tried entering the URL with and without the method and its argument OK that's it but that took all day... I have a "Snagit" screen shot showing the IIS Manager settings as well as the IE error

Re: Displaying CPU status
NC, Thanks for replying. I actually am displaying the performance data via AJAX for the server itself. I am about to implement the code to display the data via SNMP for a client machine. I will post the code as soon as I have it working. You are correct relative to the security though. The snippet requires the UID and PWRD of a system admin. I'll post shortly.

Displaying CPU status
I wonder if anyone knows how I can display various CPU status' (% of disk used, % of CPU, etc) on another machine. I already know how to display this data on the web server but I want to point to another machine and display the information from that box. Does anyone have any ideas?

Web Service Deployment
Gentlemen, I have written and tested a web service and all works well. Now when I deploy it however, I still get the tool ( The following operations are supported. For a formal definition, please review the Service Description . PSI_IVR What setting have I failed to change to bring up the actual target page? Re: IIS seems to want to load ASP 1.x
I had two web sites configured as "Default". Once I changed the IP in one of these, everything worked. Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Re: IIS seems to want to load ASP 1.x
That was the first thing that I did. I also implemented a pool so that I did not get the "can not run two versions of ASP..." message and I assigned this pool to that directory. It seems odd that I only have this issue when using the IP address. Thanks for the suggestion though.
