Re: Identified bugs and fixes for the ClubSite Starter kit
I am really just getting into it. (24 hours in) Can I use VS2005 with it? Or do I need to upgrade?

Re: The site is ready to run!
I am getting a very similar issue. Here is my code. any ideas what may be wrong? Server Error in '/Club' Application. An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution

Re: Identified bugs and fixes for the ClubSite Starter kit
Does anyone on here know if the starter kit is getting these bugs applied or do we need to step through all of these and apply all of them? I am a begginer and neeed to get a site for a local Youth Flag Football league and beleive this kit could be my answer. ( I hope ) Would I be better off starting with the expanded sites? or this one?

Re: Compile Error
That really did not tell me enough. I think because I am unsure what I should be doing. Do I need to setup a SQL db? I have done absolutely nothing except down load the starterkit and try to launch it from my local site. I have Enterprise manager but I don't know what to try and connect it to. Is there a tutorial about how to setup the database side of everything I am doing?

Compile Error
I am helping a youth flag football team with a website. Not getting paid and not a pro, so It is a good fit. The orginal webdesigner has backed out and now time is a factor. I have searched and found the Codeplex Club Site Starter Kit 2.0 This looks to be a great solution for our issue. Once I get it to compile and run locally I can make the changes. I have downloaded the site and simply tried to run it locally. I am using VS2005 and SQLServer2005. I have done just one site before so I don't

Re: Navigation/links/button best practice
Maybe I should start with my data first. Currently, each year has a seperate table to pull from. Should I combine these into one table with a reference for the year as a field?

Re: Navigation/links/button best practice
I actually don't have a team ID. I have yet to get into individual team information. The only pages that are team based on pulled on a dropdown menu that is populated from the contents of the SQL database. At this point I am just pulling straight from the database tables. I definately want to make it as simple as possible to navigate. I just don't know how at this point.

Navigation/links/button best practice
I need some help of this navigation issue. I am not an expert at web development at all. I have done one site for myself and am trying to expand on it. See this page for my delima. Ignore the pages behind the years I am still working through saw raw data SQL issues. I have 22 various stats (links) that apply to several different years. (Current, 2007,2006,2005 ~ 200) I would like to be able to toggle between the years for the same page (link on the left) and not have that mess going down the side

Re: SiteMapDataSource >> SiteMapDataSource[subnavsitemap]
PLEASE IGNORE THIS THREAD. AFTER CONSIDERING THE TOTAL CONTENT I THINK THE SITE LAYOUT NEEDS TO BE RECONSIDERED.

Re: SiteMapDataSource >> SiteMapDataSource[subnavsitemap]
OK. I just realised that this control has a "Skin" that is setting the properties. I am not sure if this skin defines the function or not. But here it is. <%- - Submenu -- %> < asp:Menu runat= "server" SkinID= "subMenu" Orientation= "Vertical" StaticDisplayLevels= "2" MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels= "0" StaticSubMenuIndent= "20" > < StaticMenuStyle BackColor= "Transparent" Width= "150" /> <
