asp.net (wcf 4.0, rest 4.0 etc)
I am not sure if I posted on the right forum. My question is about visual studio 2010 asp.net or silverlight(when it comes to wcf 4.0 and wcf 4.0 restful) models First of all I can see that vs 2010 will be using a silverlight wcf template and ria data services template azure template etc. Are there any plans for a silverlight wcf restful template or just a plain wcf restful template It seems like some parts of the restful model(restful starter kit template-will not be used) other parts of the restful

Re: MVC in Action book
In my opinion the problem with most computer books frankly they are too simplistic. Jeffrey pallermo's book on the other hand goes not only into asp.net mvc 1.0 but aso provides a look into asp.net mvc 2.0 (which is in beta) This book is more advanced.....so yes it is a good book....

Re: Self-hosting in the WCF Starter Kit
I am assuming that you want to use this for commercial development The reason you are having trouble is this Unfortunately The rest starter kit is available in a non-commercial environment which means legally you are in trouble if you use this..... see this post http://forums.asp.net/t/1400833.aspx I will be posting on the next frame how to distribute this for your future reference I enjoyed these videos from pluralsite....Look for the next release of rest starter kit (legal issues) and they will

Re: Book or website on best practices for developing an object oriented asp.net website?
I wanted to mention something else to you Visual studio 2010 along with asp.net mvc will be using a lot of design patterns decorator pattern, factory pattern. I would start to learn elementary asp.net mvc first(There are a number of great tutorials on the subject) Asp.net mvc is great both for web forms and silverlight(which uses ajax jquery) If you wish to buy a book asp.net mvc in action(sept 2009) will be having its focus in this area. WPF also uses oop techniques as well so you see there is much
