Re: Using Properties on a Web Part
Thank you but I did actually work it out in the end...I marked it as resolved but it didn't seem to stick.

Using Properties on a Web Part
Dear All I'm just getting started with writing web parts for a SharePoint environment. I would like to be able to have a couple custom properties in my web part that can be customised, not per user (i.e. personalisation) but for the shared page. Here is the code that I'm working with. The first property that I've used appears in the web part properties pane. The second property doesn't work -- I think the only difference is I've tried to put it into a category and make it Storage

Ticks Not Being Picked Up in CheckBoxList inside a DetailsView
Dear All I have a simple form on my application that allows me to assign users to roles. The form itself is just a DetailsView and the roles come from a CheckBoxList. Here's how the form looks: <asp:DetailsView ID="InsertUserDV" AutoGenerateRows="False" SkinID="SampleDetailsView" runat="server" CssSelectorClass="PrettyDetailsView" DefaultMode="Insert"> <Fields> ... <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Roles"> <InsertItemTemplate>

Re: Toggle Extender Displays an Empty Line Before It in IE8
Yeah I kind of understand that. The only trouble is that IE8 is being pushed out to people now, for example, I didn't knowingly install it -- it must of come down with Windows Updates for me. That mean's sooner or later it will happen to all my end-users and it will break the appearance of my page. That's what I'm worried about really. Is the timescale for making these kind of changes to the toolkit usually very long do you know? Thanks for your help! Daniel

Toggle Extender Displays an Empty Line Before It in IE8
Dear All I've noticed that in IE8, the toggle extender is not displaying correctly as it drops the contents onto a new line. The same toggle extender works fine on IE7 and Safari and Firefox. Has anyone else come across this and more importantly, does anyone know how to remove the empty line above the toggle extender? Many thanks Daniel

Reuse a Stored Procedure on a Dynamically Specified Column
Dear All I've been trying to reuse the following stored procedure on different columns in my database, rather than having to duplicate it several times but so far I've not had any luck. Is there some way that I could dynamically specify the column name that I want to use, for example, as an input parameter? Here's the stored procedure: ALTER PROCEDURE [lperry_dblogin].[ObservationsByKS] (@DateFrom DATETIME, @DateTo DATETIME) AS SELECT ObservationSubjectLevel As 'Level', sum(case

Re: Toggle Extender Displays an Empty Line Before It in IE8
Hi Amit Yeah you're right, that would've been useful. Here's a bit of the code: <div class="searchpanelgroup"> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="observationForUP" runat="server" RenderMode="Inline"> <ContentTemplate> <span class="searchlabel"> <asp:CheckBox ID="ToggleForBy" runat="server" AutoPostBack="true" CssClass="toggle" /> <cc1:ToggleButtonExtender ID="ToggleForByExt"

Re: Reuse a Stored Procedure on a Dynamically Specified Column
Yeah, I take your point about re-jigging things. I don't have much time so I'm going to give your other approach a go but I'll be able to look at improving the tables as you suggest. Thank you very much for your help. I've immediately encountered an error with it the dynamic SQL which I can't really tell what it's referring to: Msg 214, Level 16, State 3, Procedure sp_executesql, Line 1 Procedure expects parameter '@parameters' of type 'ntext/nchar/nvarchar'
