Re: image upload to filesystem and store path in db
Thank you for this additional help. I won't be able to play with this until next week, but will post back my results by the end of next week. Thanks again for this! Jim

Re: image upload to filesystem and store path in db
Looking at your sample, your doing all the inserting through the code-behind, not the aspx page sqldatasource. Is using the code-behind better than putting it in the sqldatasource? Thanks.

Re: image upload to filesystem and store path in db
Thanks for the reply, yeah I also need to get the Employee ID. But my problem now is how to get the picture path and filename inserted into the database. Here is my sql insert: <asp:sqldatasource id="SqlDataSourceCreateRecord" runat="server" connectionstring="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ConnectionString %>" insertcommand="INSERT INTO [Employee] ([EmployeeID], [PicturePath], [Name]) VALUES (@EmployeeID, @PicturePath, @Name)" <insertparameters> <asp

Re: image upload to filesystem and store path in db
The image upload and thumbnail work but I can't figure out how to get the path into the database. Can you show me what I'm missing? I'm not sure how to get the "PicturePath" value: <asp:sqldatasource id="SqlDataSourceCreateRecord" runat="server" connectionstring="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ConnectionString %>" insertcommand="INSERT INTO [Employee] ([PicturePath], [Name]) VALUES (@PicturePath, @Name)" <insertparameters> <asp

Re: How to store pictures in server folder and path inside database table column
Would someone be able to post all the code for this, both the aspx and code-behind. I've been trying to figure out this solution too. Thanks, Jim

image upload to filesystem and store path in db
I'm trying to find a tutorial that shows how to make a form that will upload an image, make a thumbnail and store the path in a sql database. All the tutorials I have found store the image in the database and I don't want that. I want to make a record insert form that will have "Name" and you can attach a picture of the employee. Thanks.
