IIS 5.1 for XP Pro with VWD2005
thanks for the assistance and forums! There are 2 issues here, but one seems to be related to the other, so here goes... Environment: IIS 5.1 for xp pro using vwd2005. (I cannot use the default localhost dev server due to central corporate authentication which uses cookies.) 1st issue: IIS 5.1 is installed first and ASP.Net v2.0.50727 is registered using aspnet_regiis.exe -i, then install vwd2005. Everything works fine at this point: i can debug (normally, see 2nd issue below) and edit. Until I reboot

Re: Javascript Error with formview child control
I greatly appreciate your help, jpuckett! Unfortunately, my environment is in a corporate intranet on a system which is used to host many other internal sites and they don't employ Ajax. My web coding choices are essentially cold fusion (zero experience with) or what is offered in the basic offering of .Net 2.0. That being said... I've been working on the code you offered and once i saw the backend, the aha hit. The code is passing frmSR_txtBilledDate as one might expect, but the function

File IO and IIS server access to file server
Hi and TIA for the assistance! Some time ago, my site lived on the same server as my file server and users were all authenticated using windows auth. Since then, the singel server--due to age--was decommissioned and the web and file servers now live on different machines. My site lives in a corporate intranet on an IIS 7 server which also has several other intranet sites. The default IIS accounts are in use with minimum least privelidged rights. The file server has a share in which a folder structure

Re: Javascript Error with formview child control
don't know who how or why, but this was marked resolved, which it isn't...so i'd like to request some more assistance... when using the 'good old days' version of js debugging that was suggested earlier, I'm not sure I'm doing this correctly, but when i use alert(' < % = frmSR.FindControl("txtBilledDate").ClientID % > '); the popup displays nothing. Please look at the original post--am i trying to even locate the control properly? other posts
