Issue with clients consuming a web service that was upgraded from .NET 1.1 to .NET 3.5
I am currently working with an application that was converted from Visual Studio 2003 to Visual Studio 2008 and we are having issues with a client consuming the web service portion of the application. The web services were written in .NET 1.1 using the Web Services Enhancements 2.0 and was upgraded to use the .NET 3.5 framework. One of our clients application, which is still written in .NET 1.1 was reference the upgraded web service and tried to consume the web service and received the following

Re: Default CalenderExtender skin not being applied in IE 7.0
I resolved this problem by upgrading to the latest version of the AJAX Control Toolkit for the .NET 2.0 Framework, release 1.0.20229. The default skin for the CalendarExtender control shows up just fine in IE and FireFox.

Default CalenderExtender skin not being applied in IE 7.0
Hello, I am have currently upgraded an Visual Studio 2005 solution using the ASP.NET Ajax Extension v1.0 and the Ajax Control Tool Kit (v 1.0.10618.0) to the Visual Studio 2008 solution/project format still using the .NET 2.0 Framework and it is not applying the default skin to the Calendar Extender object in IE 7.0 or FireFox 2.0. I double checked one of my Visual studio 2005 projects to verify the code and it is the same in both. <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true"

Re: VS 2008 cannot switch to design mode
No problem. Just make sure by replacing the file in the Office10 folder does not make any of the office components not work correctly.

Re: VS 2008 cannot switch to design mode
I was experiencing the same problem with VS 2008 not being able to switch to design view. For me, the issue was with VS 2008 loading an older version of the fpcutl.dll file. It needs version 12.0.4518.1066 to run correctly, which is located in the following folder \Program Files\Microsoft Web Designer Tools\VWD. It was trying to load version 11.0.6551.0 when I could not get VS 2008 to view aspx pages in design. Try doing a search on your computer for the file to see if there are two different version

Re: Problems with VS 2008 Professioanl RTM
The standard build for a workstation at my office is still using Microsoft Office 2000. A few months back they deployed a company wide script that upgraded Microsoft Access to 2003 and I think they also upgraded Mircosoft Front Page to 2003. In my Add/Remove programs it shows that I have Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Disc 2, MircosoftOffice 2000 SR-1 Professional and Mircosoft Office Professional Editon 2003. I also have something called Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components installed as well. I think

Re: Problems with VS 2008 Professioanl RTM
Front Page 2003 was installed on my machine during the duration of installing and repairing VS 2008 and the Visual Studio Web Authoring Componment. It looks like it has been on my workstation for quite sometime, it was used by our development team to support classic asp pages. But I never used it because I did not support any classic asp pages.

Re: Problems with VS 2008 Professioanl RTM
I have solved my issue with the help of Mikhail with not being able to view aspx pages in design view and not being able to use the spilt feature in VS 2008. It looks like VS 2008 was conflicting with Mircosoft Front Page 2003. The HTML designer in 2008 uses the fpcutl.dll file version (12.0.4518.1006) but it was loading version (11.0.6551.0) when I tried to view an aspx in design view. Mikhail confirmed the verison with the visual studio debug file dump I created for him. I uninstalled Mircosoft

Re: Problems with VS 2008 Professioanl RTM
I have been working with Mikhail behind the scenes and looks like he might of narrowed it down to the Microsoft office related components that are installed on my workstation. Unfornuately, the standard build for a workstation at my employer uses components from Office 2000 and Office 2003. So it looks like is not issue related to different versions of Visual Studio installed on the same Windows XP workstation.
