Re: How do I select multiple controls in VWD 2008
Yes, that is good news! Even though it is half way without Cut/Paste and Drag/Drop. Even better news is that you demonstrate that our input matters and that you are willing to change priorities based on it. See what M$ and manpower can do /Big

Re: VWDE 2008 Crashes
I have found the cause for my problem. It was corruptions in the Websites.xml file that I logged in as administrator found in the dir C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WebsiteCache I do now also have a better story to how this has happened. My xWeb was earlier not able to show the open dialog due to corruptions in the web sites list. Had to reformat the machine and start all over again. After that all worked fine, for some time... Using both xWeb and VWDE 2008 (2005 before) I noted that an

Re: VWDE 2008 Crashes
Some more that might help: Opened Administrativ Tools/Event viewer and looked up the log for Event 1000, Application Error. This is what it reports for the latest (there are many as I have been trying to get this to work for the latest 8 hours ) The General tab shows: Faulting application VWDExpress.exe, version 9.0.21022.8, time stamp 0x47316132, faulting module mswebprj.dll, version 9.0.21022.8, time stamp 0x4731806d, exception code 0xc00000fd, fault offset 0x00012b37, process id 0x13c4, application

Re: VWDE 2008 Crashes
Thats what I meant too No custom controls installed. It crashes on clicking Design for any type of file. Html with just text or aspx with just a few standard controls. If I do File/New file.../HTML Page it opens up a new html page in source view but crashes when I click Design. Mikhail, I am really stuck and need help. Please let me know how I should go further with this. Maybe outside this forum. I do understand that your time is limited. As I am located in Stockholm, Sweden maybe a local MS technician

VWDE 2008 Crashes
I really do need help now. VWDE 2008 is crashing when I - open a recently used site from the start page. - open an aspx file and click Design. I have successfully been using both Expression Web and VWD for some days now. Then suddenly VWD crashes, xWeb still works. On crashing I first get dialog saying "Microsoft Visual WD has encountered a problem and needs to be closed" then another "Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition has stopped working" with a Close Program button.

Re: How do I select multiple controls in VWD 2008
Mikail, thanks for your answers. I am sorry I used the word manpower, maybe priority is more correct. My two cents on multiple selection will not go a long way with the CSS layout puritans in the xWeb camp. Don't get me wrong here, I do understand that CSS is essential in creating standards, but I do not understand their dislike for absolute positioning. I want to use both xWeb and VWD as I do think xWeb is great, even though you can feel it is version 1.0. Looks like xWeb and VWD understand
