Re: EnableViewState at Page Level and control level.
Hi Kumar, I have checked that In case of EnableTheming, the control overrides the page level property. But in case of EnableViewState it does not. Thanks for the information.
Also, the <pages> element in web.config seem to override the page directive .. So, if you are curious you might want to play around and see what you find.
But this is not true. Web.config setting are overridden by page directives. I have checked it with EnableViewState.

Re: EnableViewState at Page Level and control level.
If you have viewstate turned on at the page level and then turn it off at the control level, that will do.. But not the other way around. Again as I said in my previous post, the placeholder should have it turned on, for individual controls to use it.
So you are saying that Properties declared at page level can not be overridden by the control. Then how does it work in case of EnableTheming?

Re: EnableViewState at Page Level and control level.
But the control level properties always overrides the properties declared at page level. So for dropdown list ViewState must be maintained.

EnableViewState at Page Level and control level.
Hi All, I want to know what is the difference between setting EnableViewState at page level and control level. Most of you would say "Both are same." But I am facing a strange problem. At Page level, I have set EnableViewState to false. <%@ Page Language= "C#" AutoEventWireup= "true" CodeFile= "Default.aspx.cs" Inherits= "_Default" EnableViewState= "false" %> On the page, I have also put a dropdown and it's EnableViewState to true

Re: Checking max length of textbox with RegularExpressionValidator
Hi, I have used your validation expression and it is working fine. < asp:TextBox ID= "txt1" runat= "server" ></ asp:TextBox > < asp:RegularExpressionValidator ID= "regtxt1" runat= "server" ValidationExpression= "^.{5,10}" ControlToValidate= "txt1" ErrorMessage= "not a valid value" Display= "Dynamic" ></ asp:RegularExpressionValidator >
