The function Now() returns the current time. You could use the Day function to get the day number. That would be... Code: ( text ) Dim DayNumber As Integer DayNumber = Day( Now() ) You can also use the Format() function to return the day from a date/time value.

w3schools.com is good for the basics and then you can move onto microsoft webcasts and stuff and also MSDN has lotz of good documentation, even the learn section here is good. Hope this helps you.

it might be a problem with you not closing the stream reader or writer right from the point you created it. check to see from all the points you created your file that all of them are closed.

When using the update command you donot have to break up the line using an + operator, you can continue on with the query how you normally write it. it can take care of itself. sqldatasource1.updatecommand="Update Employees SET LastName= @LastName,FirstName= @FirstName Where EmployeeID=@EmployeeID"; hope it helps you
