Unexpected Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell assembly reference added in config file when creating ASP.NET AJAX page
Hi all, I was reading the forum posts and find some random reports on seeing unexpected Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell assembly reference being automatically added to web.config when creating ASP.NET AJAX page. We would like to investigate this issue further, but haven't been able to reproduce the problem. Can anyone who has encountered the problem provide the exact repro steps so we can look into the problem? Thanks, Frank

Re: Problem installing Atlas
I presume you are referring having Atlas controls on the toolbox. Please check out this post and see if that helps.

Re: Templated List mobile control
I presume you are using Visual Studio to debug and collect the call stack. Can you uncheck the option through the menu "Options->Debugging->Enable Just My Code" and get the call stack again? This will show the callstack in the System.Web.dll and System.Web.Mobile.dll that would help to tell the flow of the calls.

Re: Asp.net mobile web application on BlackBerry Device [Any Simulators]
xugedechina: dear : Frank Tse thank you for you advice. i try ,copy the url which diaplay on the IE when launch the programm, to the simulator . and still nothing happen. I don't have the simulator to try, but I guess you first need to make sure the browser simulator has the correct http connection. I think the Nokia browser simulator requires a Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator to run if the browser simulator is not going through an external gateway. Do you have the gateway simulator running on your machine

Re: Asp.net mobile web application on BlackBerry Device [Any Simulators]
I think how the Browse With dialog works is that it will launch the program with a command parameter of the url. For example, if you choose IE executable in the dialog, Visual Studio will launch: iexplore.exe /WebSite1/Default.aspx">http://localhost:<port#>/WebSite1/Default.aspx Sounds like the Nokia Mobile Browser 4.0 simulator does not take the url parameter, that's why it displays nothing. You would need to copy the url launched in IE and paste it into the url box of the simulator.

Re: BackColor not working
well, a quick (but not elegant) workaround is to specify device specific content to write out a span tag with the background around the label: <mobile:Panel runat=server> <DeviceSpecific> <Choice Filter="isHTML32"> <ContentTemplate> <span style="background:white"> </ContentTemplate> </Choice> </DeviceSpecific> </mobile:Panel> <mobile:Label ID="Label4" Runat="server" BackColor="blue" ForeColor="green" >Label Text</mobile:Label> <mobile

Re: Which devices asp.net mobile web application supports
Device Update 4 is the latest package for .NET Framework 1.1. If you are running .NET Framework 2.0, it supports the same set of devices as .NET Framework 1.1 with Device Update 4. The link you included above does have the supported devices of all 4 device updates (see the Milestone dropdown list on the page). Sorry that the page was not updated correctly that caused the confusion.

Re: Asp.net mobile web application on BlackBerry Device [Any Simulators]
ASP.NET Mobile Web Application is a server technology that allows mobile devices to browse to ASP.NET Mobile pages. As long as a device has a HTML, WML, XHTML or CHTML browser, it will be able to browse to the mobile pages. Looks like BlackBerry does have simulators for download , though I haven't tried it myself.

Re: Templated List mobile control
If you set a breakpoint in your databinding event, can you see what the callstack looks like in the two calls and see if there is anything suspcious there?
