Re: web.config, app.config Connection strings
I have a similar issue, I have several projects that use the DAL. Some are web (with web.config) some are CMD line (applicationName.exe.config) the DAL project has its own app.config file...I'd like to add the connection string of the DAL to whatever hosting application I'm running it from (web, cmd, win service...etc). The DAL should not know whether its being configured from a web.config or from an app.config as long as the connection string is set, In other words, I don't think modifing

Re: Problem in PhotoDisplay.ashx
IIS is proabably not recognizing ashx as an ASP.NET extension. If you have access to IIS you can add that. Or you can simply rename the file extension from ashx to aspx and see if that works.

Re: can some ads information be viewed after logged in?
You can put all the information that you want available only after login inside a Panel... and set the Visible property of the Panel to Visible='<%# Page.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated %>'

adrotator missing ImpressionField for DB
Im trying to leverage the adrotator with a DB backend (as opposed to an xml file)...But i noticed that the ImpressionField is missing, so you cannot really use Impression to qualify ads. Which would make impressions only work if you're using an XML file not DB.. Does anybody have a workaround? Thanks. -Ash

Re: Parser Error: persisted schema file is corrupted, trying to add city field
I would not recommend you editing the xsd file directly from the text unless you know exactly what you are doing. I would in order 1.Change the DB schema by adding that field there. 2. Change the Stored Procs to reflect the DB schema changes, specially the GET method that builds the strong types dataset in the xsd file 3.Rebuild the xsd datatable by going through the wizard of the TOP / FIRST Get Method on the datatable adapter, this will define the schema of the datatable. 4.Change the code to pass

Its fairly self exlpainatory...just understand the how it works and then you should be able to understand the code behind if you have decent programming skills

Re: post ad without login
You will need to do somework to get it working like that... In addition to what Daniel suggested, I guess you can assign a random number to the memberId and email the ad poster that #.... When the user knows that # they can edit the ad....but again thats more work than just that...
