  That is a great post about ordering with LINQ, however, it doesn't answer my question. I know how to order by any column in the recipe table. What I need is to pull a recipe and that has it's child tables sorted by a column (Postion) in the child table. None of the examples in that post show how to do that.

  I've got a database where a part of the schema looks like this in the dbml file: When I grab a Recipe with LINQ, I get all the child object with it as well, recpart, ingred, contrib ect: var recipe = from r in _Db.recipes where r.recipeid == recipeId select r; What I need is a LINQ query where I select a Recipe, but with recpart and ingred sorted by their respective Position columns. How can I do this with LINQ?

  Well, what about the use of a HTTPModule to trim the fat (whitespace, comments, etc) at runtime?

  That's interesing, I might be able to use that sometime. However, in this case I do want the DropDown's to post back (in fact I need them to). I just don't want them to flicker when they do.
