Re: Duplicate classes with Web Application Project
This behavior is actually wrong, the code behind attribute is only there for compatability with asp.net 1.1 as it is stated on msdn. code file should be used instead. the only reason why they are still using that is to enable people to do edit and continue. otherwise you cant it. if you dont want to get the error u are getting there is two way to go about it. one is to do what you did and change all code files to code behind the other is to leave the code file attribtues and set the build action

Re: I can't get a WDP to only pick the right files
I dont know why your file are getting generated but i know that the compilation types that shipped with the web deployment project are not workign with the web application. have a look at my blog entry about this problem. http://undocnet.blogspot.com/2007/11/web-application-project.html

Re: Web Application project
thank you for your post, i know that the web deployment project is not available for 2008 but that is irrelevant. I can test part of it because web deployment project really only introduce the asp net merger for 3 of the 4 output types that shipped with it, but the forth one is part of the aspnetcompiler. that one i can test, I will try to build using single page assemblies for my web application using aspnet compiler task in msbuild. and if that works the aspnetmerger would work in theory. if not
