  This happens because he used VB Team Suite to make a differential file. I think he is working on it. I sent him my sql script to see if he can upgrade it so I won't lose my data. In a previous message in this string there is an explanation of how to script your db. I suspect he is trying to come up with an alternative otherwise we'd all need VB Team software to do it. GregW

  My db is 43,000 kb. Would it be better if I gave you the logon to my serve? Is there a better way to get this to you like script the db file to something? Thanks, Greg

  I'm going to set up a new app on my server as a testing ground for upades. Then I'll get my tech to put a copy of the db in a folder where I can download it. They have the server set up such that I can't work on the live db copy and have to do local changes then have them restore it. A bit of a pain.   Being fairly new to VB I'm using visual web dev for programming. Also, I ran the script from my server and not on my local machine. Why would it make a difference what program ran the script? Is the Visual Studio you mentioned one of the express sets or is it realatively cost efective for a beginner? The full Visual Studio package is very expensive. Thanks, Greg

  I have not switched to v3 yet because I want to make certain not to loose my members who've already signed up. So I'll read up on upgrading shortly.
