Re: runtime error from Page directive
Thank you! The problem for me was that my host had changed the server from 2.0 to 1.1 and also had my app in the same APPLICATION POOL as a 1.1 app. These both caused runtime issues that weren't present in the app code. The runtime error was a runtime error.... it wasn't running my app at all! lol

advise: I have T1 and shared host
Hi, I'd like some advice. I have three websites that I'm re-doing as asp 2.0 sites. My company has a T1 with voip and about 15 people online. We have all three websites on a shared host. The T1 would more than handle the traffic, and ASP seems to be so tied with the server... should we just get our own server? Is there so much to running IIS that it's worth sticking with a shared host for cheap? Thank you.

Re: Server Error in "/" Application
Is your application configured as a virtual directory on the hosts server?
He said it is. The app also used to work, and stopped at a point at which I'm unaware sometime yesterday.
Is it running under the appropriate version of ASP.NET?
I think. How do I check?
If your host is running multiple applications under different versions of ASP.NET, is your application allocated to the

Re: Server Error in "/" Application
I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem as the web.config file is even being read by the time the problem occurs. When I call the Trace.axd I also get the same runtime error. It seems like just calling the domain brings a runtime error.

Re: ASP.NET 2.0, Path Re-Writing, and the dreaded "Cannot use a leading .. to exit above the top directory"
Just a guess; if the cookiesession returns a good path to the crawler, everything is fine. This guess is based on the really good earlier post.

Re: Need serious advice
I found this for you: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?platform=Windows&product=111 Once you download and install the SDK, if you go to Help>SDK>Adobe Intro to Scripting, it'll tell you everything you need to know. Probably you can find a free script online already made that does what you need. If you can't, you'll probably be able to write your own within a couple hours of getting the SDK installed. Your proccess will work like this: write a VB or JavaScript
